One thing that would make setting up factories in different areas is making it easier to align foundations. To be more specific, the first one you place is freely anywhere, and after that you can align them nicely with it. The problem is if you want a base or the like farther out to be aligned, you have to push your foundation out to there to ensure it lines up.

A "snap to existing foundation layout" could easily correct this. Say I lay down foundation, and assign it to "foundation 1", then when I'm placing foundation elsewhere, I can fit it to the current grid that "foundation 1" is using to align it. This would make getting things aligned so much easier.

I've had to push foundations around over quite a distance myself, so you get my vote.

August 28th update: We've removed downvotes! One major reason is because we don't want to discourage folks from posting legitimate suggestions / reports / questions with fear of being mass downvoted (which has been happening a LOT). So we now allow you to upvote what you like, or ignore what you don't. Points have also been adjusted to account for this change.
Please use the search function before posting a new question and upvote existing ones to bring more attention to them, It will help us a lot. <3
