When you click the left mouse button while holding a beacon, it will be placed on the floor below you (which may sometimes be hundreds of metres down!) if nothing is within clickable range (this is the same range for clicking on a constructor to configure it).

This is really confusing and seems pointless - it's too easy to accidentally leave beacons lying around in places you don't expect. There should just be a "nuh-uh" denial sound if the beacon can't be placed exactly where you are pointing.

August 28th update: We've removed downvotes!
