I want to know how many power a network is possible in need of. currently this is not shown in the networks overview. (if you click a pole or generator)

As long as you know how many generators you have and their capacities, the maximum is easily known. But, I have noticed that the graph has a max line on it and half the time I can't see it. Maybe what your wanting is already there, but can't see it?

I think he's referring to the maximum possible draw on the grid, not the maximum possible output of the generators powering it. I had this problem too, like if an Assembler is waiting to fill with screws it's idle so there is no power draw from it. But once it gets enough screws and starts up, that's 15 more MW that it's pulling from your grid. Those spikes can cause overloads if you aren't careful, and the current graphs show no indicator of this.
