A way so we can drag foundations, walkways, stacakble conveyor belts, assemblers etc.

explanation: the player selects a starting point, clicks, drags the mouse, then the player will see the holograms of the "duplicates", then clicks and it will build as many buildings stacked horizontally / vertically as possible between starting point and endpoint

ps: i think it would also a good idea to define a "gap size" for example for splitters/ mergers so they will sit perfectly where they should be or to leave some walkable space between the buildings if the player wants to.

I thought of something like this. You could add a ghost feature as well, so when you're dragging the building you can see where it was.
I think, while in build mode, having a grid of sorts on the ground would be useful for placing, well.. anything.

I love the idea especially for convoyer belt and for perfectionnism but the path finding might do some really crazy things so it might not come so handy as we would love it to be.

yeah to avoid that the game needs to do the regular checks for building placement and if something blocks the path :)
