Since it is proven more then 1 time that EPIC sells user data and privacy data to companies and countries (including china through mother company tencent), how can i play the game without downloading the EPIC launcher?

I was surprised & disappointed when they pulled from Steam!! I think it was a huge mistake, and seemingly a little shady, but WHATEVER. It's OK now, because now I have half a dozen launchers  to bring a smile to my face. Battlenet,  Steam, Bethesda, Origin, Uplay, Epic ...  oh, yeah, baby! Keep those launchers coming ...

This game is so stable and fun to play you never spend any time in the launcher.

My ONLY question - If I buy now on epic - will I be able to load the key into steam after a year so that I can connect and play with friends / use the steam game features.

OR will my copy be locked to the Epic store forever ?   Thank you.

@ IvanGS: You can already do that now.

So much THIS! I won't use the stupid Epic Spyware for anything other than launching the game and I certainly won't persuade my friends to also give up their privacy.

Will I be locked into the Epic Spyware regarding friends, community, etc.?

It's all fine guys, Hal master chief collection is just announced for steam and windows store.
Steam knows how to counter this :)

I'll leave this here for the memes https://images7.memedroid.com/images/UPLOADED789/5c8828108d839.jpeg

Without breaking laws, you cannot.

Epic launcher is used for distribution of the game, as well as proof of ownership.

For more info about the Exclusivity Option see our video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7V4UPiBOshY.

Yup, I was looking forward to this game and would def have played this weekend's alpha if they hadn't decided to go for the shitty Epic Games Launcher.  I can ABSOLUTELY say that I WILL NOT buy this game on this platform.

You can't EPIC will gather information and there is no limit on what they can gather.

Besides that the EULA is full off things that are just straight up anti consumer.
Here are a couple.

You can not start a class action lawsuit as this is expressly stated you waver that right, you indemnify them meaning you have to pay for there costs in court (which weird cause you can't go to court with them since you sign a waver)

Epic also does not comply with EU GDPR and they dont give a flying f*ck about the consumers.

"As part of our international operations, we may transfer information about you to any jurisdiction where we do business... The laws in those jurisdictions may not provide the same level of data protection compared to the laws in your country."

For example that sentence above (straight from the privacy policy) This is 100% illegal, according to GDPR EU Law you have to provide as a company who has acces etc, but also safeguard that the security from companies or entities you share with are up to the same security level.

For example U.S.A is not on the list of countries so they can not provide any of your information towards any entity based in U.S.A.

And this is what they ask when you want to refund.

Thank you for contacting Epic Games Player Support! This is an automated response to your selected issue.

We’ll be happy to assist you with your refund request.

Before we can do that, we first need some more information to verify you own the account.

We need you to please provide the following information:

    • Your public IP address(es) (IPv4), which you can find by searching "What is my IP address" in your internet browser; if you use multiple devices, please include all IP addresses

    • Date when you created your Epic Games account

    • An invoice ID for any Epic Games purchase you made on the account (the Invoice ID begins with an "A," followed by 8 digits; example: A12345678)

    • Locations (city, state/province) where you made purchases on the account

    • Original display name for the account

    • Last 4 digits of the first payment card used on the account

    • Date of your last login

    • Names of any PlayStation, Switch, Twitch, or Xbox accounts connected to your Epic Games account and the dates when they were connected

We're serious about player security, so if we're unable to verify you own the account, we won't be able to make any changes.

Really your IPv4 adress? are you fucking kidding me,  this list screams something totally awfull.

What the flying F?!?! How about I'm mailing you from the e-mail registered in my account AND I provide the invoice number and only *maybe* you'll get some form of ID from me. That has to suffice.

Nobody (who doesn't know this in advance) can produce the information they "require" above. This is just to deter from requesting a refund.

"What? You can't remember the time and date you signed up and what nickname you first chose? Also how can you not know when you logged in last time and what the weather was outside? Don't tell me you don't know your social security number. And what's the PIN for your bank card?
Huh, you didn't tell me one of the things. Refund denied."

That's just straight up extorition of information.
